It is critical to understand that a president is very critical towards initiating change and the fact that President Kennedy did nothing to see to changes shows how much of a poor leader he was. This information is important in comprehending the issue of a just society. A just society is one that involves people receiving similar treatment and not having one group showing superiority to the other. According to the book, John F. Kennedy Struggle for Black Equality, there is the understanding that the Black community did not have as much respect as it has today (Bryant 78). The reason behind the unfairness shown to this community is the fact that it was condescended upon by many other groups. There was a poll carried out in the United States between the year 1960 and 1961 that was to reveal the views of the people on what had to be done for America to advance in society (Bryant 93). This factor adds value to the entire project in that there is the understanding that earlier presidents in the United States did not support the black community as they were supposed to. The reason for this is the fact that they were all white. This proves that the American society has not always been just throughout the years. The information provided by the book is important to college students and history enthusiastic people. The fact that the students get to understand the history of the United States and the society makes them appreciate the current environment.
